This course is a comprehensive study of the Principles and Practice of Hindu Rituals (Puja Vidhi & Havan),Vaidik Chanting, Basic Sanskrit and Hindu Culture (Dharma, Samskaara & Festivals)

Who is Arya Purohit?

Arya Purohit is a vedic word which describes any person who constantly strives and works hard for the betterment and emboldment of our nation in every possible way. Going by this defenition we can say that even the creator of this cosmic universe, the God himself is a purohit.

Rigveda starts with the hymn – “Agnimeele Purohitham….” .
A Purohit should have clarity in his thoughts, words and deeds in whatever he undertakes. He should be a disciplined and responsible soul. The word ‘Pandit’ describes a person who is knowledgable. A purohit should live by the defenition of that word-Pandit. Our saints, Maha Rishis, Yogis, Social Workers, Karmiks who perform rituals at our temples and homes, they are also Purohits.
In short, any person who struggle to bring positivity and development to the society, selflessly is called a Purohit.

It is the need of the hour and for the betterment of our nation that we promote and develop more Purohits in the society.
For this, Arya Samajam kerala has crafted a unique course to build Purohits in our society.

After Successful Completion

An Arya Purohit will be able to perform all of the SHODASHA SAMSKARA Rituals among other ygnas and homas. For example: Perform a complete and elaborate ritual for a Hindu Marriage in a vedic way.

The Course

This course is a 1 year course. The classes for this course are conducted during the holidays of every month. Since this course requires certain strict way of life styles, adherance to rituals, the acharya is the final authority to grand admission to this course for a candidate.

Once the course is succesfully completed, the student will be awarded the “Arya Purohit” title.
