Efforts to Transform the Society Towards the Path of Dharma !

The wellbeing of the individual and society in the Vedic vision of the universe included both material and spiritual well being. The Vedic vision did not exclude any group or peoples, unlike most ideologies which seek advantage for one group of people at the expense of others, but sought to provide such knowledge that could protect, enhance, empower and enrich life for all peoples who pursued these knowledge systems.

Arsha Padtana Sharani

Sanatana Sanskara is probably the world’s oldest major living religious tradition, with roots deep in the early cultures of the Indian sub-continent. These ancient cultures combined to create a highly diverse family of religions, philosophies, and material cultures. Although estimates of the total number of Hindus in the world vary greatly (900 – 1,400 million), Hinduism has grown to become the world’s third largest religion, after Christianity and Islam. It is the dominant religion in India, Nepal, and among the Tamils in Sri Lanka, and there are Hindus living in every part of the world today. Because of the wide range of ideas and traditions incorporated by the term ‘Hinduism’, a useful analogy to consider Hinduism is that of an extended family. While some Hindus share common texts, deities, and ritual practices, even though they interpret them differently, other family members openly dispute the views of their kith and kin, disagreeing about the common creed, teachers or deities.

In this course, the student will learn the foundations of one of the oldest religions in the world. From the origins of Sanatana Dharma to the writings that shaped its historical development over centuries.

Veda Pravesa:

This is an introductory course into Vedas, Agnihotra and many other basic daily rituals. As a Sanatana Dharmik, every individual should be aware of these basic rituals and practice them. This Course offers a foundation for the Dharmik way of life.

The Vedas are regarded as divine in origin. They are referred to as apaurusheya. They are not produced by a couple of individuals. They are not composed by some poets or authors. The Vedas constitute the sublime knowledge revealed to our great ancestors while they were doing their penance. It is not an acquired knowledge. It is the sublime knowledge revealed to them in their meditation by the Supreme Divinity. The ancient sages, while doing their tapasya and sadhana, ‘heard’ the divine truths. Whatever was ‘heard’ or ‘revealed’ to the great sages was presented in the Vedas and the Upanishads.

Yoga Darshanam

Yoga darshana is one of the six darshanas, or ways of viewing the world, according to Hindu philosophy. Thousands of years ago, Patanjali codified the yoga point of view, or yoga darshana, in his Yoga Sutras. While Patanjali did not found or discover yoga, his writings set forth the philosophy of yoga. According to yoga darshana, the goal in life is union (“yoga”) with the Ultimate Reality, a state of enlightenment called samadhi.
