Namaste,

A training class will be held at Vedagurukulam on Monday 8th June, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM for teachers and students of Karalmanna Veda Gurukulam (which follows Vedic values and bases its English-medium instruction, from class 6 to class 10, on NCERT textbooks and which has Sanskrit as a core subject from higher secondary through degree level) and Lekharam Kanyag Gurukulam in Vellinezhi.

This training is led by academic expert Dr. K. Sankaran and Smt. Indira Krishnakumar, M.A., B.L. (a former Civil Service Officer).
The workshop will present Sri Aurobindo’s views on a major social fissure that exists in India and how that can be addressed through discernment (viveka). Following that, there will be a comparative analysis of Western and Indian teaching methods (pedagogies). Avoiding the usual duality that assails such discussions, the workshop will move beyond simply rejecting Western rationalist thought, and will examine how to cultivate a unitive spirit necessary to become a genuine teacher.

Finally, there will be a discussion on delight in teaching — how teachers should and can experience it, and how essential that joy is for students to achieve the best results.

Well wishers of Veda Gurukulam are warmly invited to this academic workshop.

For Veda Gurukulam and Lekharam Kanya Gurukulam
