Veda Gurukulam, Karalmanna, organised a special teacher interaction programme titled “Delight in Teaching: Teacher Becomes a Learner” on 8 June 2026 from 9 am to 12.30 pm for the teachers of Veda Gurukulam and Lekhram Kanya Gurukulam.
The programme was led by Smt. Indira Krishnakumar, former Civil Service Officer, and Dr. K. Sankaran, Academic Expert. The session focused on the joy of teaching, the importance of continuous learning, and the evolving role of educators in today’s educational landscape.
Smt. Indira Krishnakumar, M.A., B.L., is a former Indian Postal Service officer who retired as Member, Postal Services Board. A noted speaker and writer on Indian spiritual and scriptural traditions, she has authored Indraneelam and translated portions of the Rigveda into English. She has received the Gowrishankaram Award and the Bharat Sevak Samaj Honour for her contributions to the dissemination of spiritual knowledge.
The sessions explored Sri Aurobindo’s educational vision, the relationship between Indian and Western pedagogical approaches, and the importance of cultivating joy in the teaching-learning process. The workshop provided valuable insights for educators and emphasized the role of lifelong learning in becoming an effective teacher
The interactive discussions encouraged teachers to reflect on their teaching practices, embrace lifelong learning, and explore innovative approaches to education. Participants found the programme enriching, thought-provoking, and highly relevant to their professional growth.
The event served as a valuable platform for teachers to learn, share experiences, and strengthen their commitment to nurturing future generations.
The Veda Gurukulam President Sri. V Govindadas Master presided over the inaugural session. Sri. K.M. Rajan Meemamsak, Arya Pracharak & Adhishtatha of both Veda Gurukulam and Lekhram Kanya Gurukulam welcomed the audience and gave intriductory speach on the importance of conducting such workshop on the social context of educational system. When Gurukulas turned to modern schools in British India we lost our identity and it is the need of the hour to bring back revolution in education system and there by bring back our Vedic glory.
